Mellow And Refreshing Residential House

Mellow And Refreshing Residential House

Mellow and Refreshing Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully integrates the symbolic essence of wine-red with contemporary living spaces, created by designers Chiang Chieh-Yu and Kuo Yu-Ching. This 92-square-meter residence, completed in 2018 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, exemplifies a sophisticated approach to modern living through its thoughtful spatial organization and color psychology. The design concept draws inspiration from the homeowner's desire for an invigorating lifestyle, utilizing wine-red as the primary accent color, harmoniously balanced with white wall surfaces and carefully selected furnishings. The space is strategically divided into public and private zones, with the front area encompassing the living room, dining room, and kitchen, while the rear section houses the bedrooms. Notable design elements include a striking wine-red feature wall with practical coat hooks, hidden storage solutions, and a sophisticated contrast between dark gray upholstery and vivid accent pieces. The interior demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its skillful modification of structural beams into functional wall shelves, integration of black wooden veneers against white surfaces, and the strategic placement of lighting fixtures. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative space optimization while maintaining a delicate balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design's success lies in its ability to create distinct atmospheric qualities within different zones while maintaining visual cohesion through consistent material selection and color coordination.
