Meliac Headshell

Meliac Headshell

Meliac Headshell is an artisanal audio component crafted in Berlin, representing a sophisticated fusion of exotic wood and precious metals designed to enhance the vinyl listening experience. This meticulously handcrafted headshell, developed by Studio Nils Fischer, exemplifies the intersection of acoustic engineering and aesthetic refinement in high-end audio equipment. Distinguished by its innovative use of Meliac wood combined with brass and silver elements, the design achieves an optimal balance between material density and acoustic properties, weighing a mere 8 grams. The headshell's technical specifications include gold-plated SME connectors and oxygen-free copper (OFC) cables, ensuring superior signal transmission and compatibility with various turntable systems. Measuring 75mm in height, 20mm in width, and 14mm in depth, this precision-engineered component underwent extensive material testing and acoustic engineering to achieve its exceptional sound characteristics. The design process, which commenced in mid-2018, involved comprehensive research into frequency absorption capabilities of various wood and metal combinations, conducted in collaboration with skilled acoustic engineers. This limited edition design, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Limited Edition and Custom Design category in 2019, demonstrates a commitment to environmental consciousness while delivering audiophile-grade performance. The headshell's versatility allows for seamless integration with different cartridges, enabling users to optimize their listening experience across various musical genres, from classical to hip-hop, through its industry-standard SME connector system.
