Megapixel
Megapixel is a term used in digital imaging to describe the resolution of a digital camera sensor or digital display device. It represents one million pixels, which are the smallest addressable elements in a digital image. The number of megapixels in a camera's sensor determines the level of detail that can be captured in an image. A higher megapixel count generally allows for larger prints and greater flexibility in cropping without losing image quality. However, megapixel count is not the sole determinant of image quality, as factors such as sensor size, lens quality, and image processing algorithms also play significant roles. In the context of digital displays, megapixels refer to the total number of pixels the screen can display, with higher megapixel counts resulting in more detailed and sharper images. As technology has advanced, the megapixel count of both cameras and displays has steadily increased, enabling the capture and display of increasingly high-resolution images.
