Meet Chuanchuan Logo

Meet Chuanchuan Logo

Meet Chuanchuan Logo is an innovative visual identity design that reimagines the traditional representation of Sichuan cuisine, specifically focusing on the popular Chinese dish known as Chuanchuan. Created by emerging designer Sitong Liu, this corporate identity system employs a minimalist yet meaningful approach, utilizing basic geometric shapes - squares and triangles - arranged in a circular composition to symbolize both the food ingredients and the characteristic hot pot vessel. The logo's design philosophy cleverly incorporates cultural elements while maintaining contemporary aesthetic principles, featuring a vibrant red color palette that not only represents the dish's spicy nature but also evokes feelings of warmth and hospitality in Chinese culture. The typography employs a square-form typeface for the Chinese characters, harmoniously integrating with the overall design while paying homage to the literal meaning of Chuan (skewer) in Mandarin. This comprehensive brand identity project encompasses various applications including business cards, saucers, washcloths, packaging materials, and signage, demonstrating its versatility and practical implementation across different mediums. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a distinctive visual identity in the competitive restaurant sector while maintaining cultural authenticity and visual appeal. Recognized for its excellence in visual communication, the project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to representing traditional cuisine through modern design principles.
