Marcel Kunz
Marcel Kunz was a famous Swiss artist who lived from 1882 to 1954. His career spanned several creative mediums including paintings, sculptures, and printmaking. Kunz was one of the earliest adopters of abstract art, and many of his works display a combination of Romanticism, Symbolism, and Expressionism. For example, in his 1912 painting, The Tower of Babel, Kunz combined a close-up portrait of a building, wrapped in a surrealist composition, to create a powerful expression of his worldview. Other notable works by Kunz include The Miller of the Crest, Alpine Summit, and The Great Path of Heaven. Kunz was also known for his ability to meld his works with the landscape, thus creating a powerful union of art and nature.
