Marble Art With Zen Residential Apartment

Marble Art With Zen Residential Apartment

Marble Art with Zen Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of luxury materials with functional multi-generational living spaces. Created by designers Hsu Tzu-Hung and Chou Hau Ting, this sophisticated U-shaped apartment transformation demonstrates exceptional spatial planning and artistic vision through its distinctive use of marble installations. The design's centerpiece features two structural pillars masterfully transformed into multi-faced marble installations, creating a dramatic visual dialogue with the panoramic river views visible through wrap-around windows. The interior architecture thoughtfully balances communal and private spaces, incorporating specific design elements for four generations of inhabitants, including wheelchair-accessible features and strategically positioned private wings for grandparents and in-laws. The project, completed in December 2019 in Taipei, showcases technical innovation through its implementation of diatomaceous earth in walls, wardrobes, and ceilings to combat mountain air humidity, while the sophisticated marriage of warm wooden grates with angular marble techniques demonstrates exceptional material artistry. The design earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognized for its outstanding achievement in combining aesthetic excellence with practical functionality. The space planning adheres to Feng-Shui principles, featuring an open-concept common area that facilitates social interaction while maintaining private spaces, and employs a carefully curated color palette that enhances natural light integration and complements the exterior landscape views.
