Mappel Bench Urban Seat is an innovative urban furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural inspiration and functional ergonomics in public space design. Drawing its distinctive form from the organic structure of a maple seed, this modular seating solution represents a sophisticated approach to bionic design principles in street furniture. Created by Iranian industrial designer Davood Abbasi in 2015, the bench features flowing curves and organic contours that not only pay homage to its natural inspiration but also provide exceptional comfort through its ergonomic configuration. The design consists of two complementary modules, each measuring approximately 3 by 1.8 meters, which can be installed either independently or as paired units to complete the maple seed form.
