Magician's Home Interior Design

Magician's Home Interior Design is an innovative interior design project completed in 2015, located in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully transforms a 403-square-meter space into an enchanting restaurant environment. The design, conceived by Cheng-Hsien Kuo, draws inspiration from the tarot's first card I Mago and manifests as a sophisticated dining establishment featuring twin tower blocks positioned on Dadun 11th Street. The exterior architecture employs a striking color palette of lavender purple, purple blue, and dark blue, creating a visually dynamic facade enhanced by large glass windows that serve dual purposes - allowing natural daylight during the day and creating dramatic illuminated reflections at night. The interior space is characterized by its thoughtful integration of magical elements, including strategic dim lighting that creates an atmosphere of mystique and wonder. A notable feature is the entrance area at No.386, where carefully placed glass installations create mesmerizing mirror reflections, while impressive black wine storage racks contribute to a perception of expanded space through their reflective properties. The design's conceptual foundation draws from the geometric purity of glass cube forms, incorporating distinctive cross lines against a white base, which collectively evokes the sense of witnessing a magician's performance. This sophisticated interior design project, which was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully combines functional restaurant requirements with theatrical elements, creating an immersive dining experience that engages customers through its architectural features, lighting design, and spatial arrangement.
