Magam Calendar is an innovative desktop calendar design that exemplifies sophisticated visual communication through its distinctive architectural composition and refined production techniques. Created by Polish designers Izabela Jurczyk and Małgorzata Boszulak, this calendar features a thoughtfully engineered structure consisting of a rack with suspended spiral binding and a comprehensive cover sheet. The design incorporates a dual-sided layout with four quarterly graphic cards on the right-hand side, each crafted on different materials with specialized color printing and finishing treatments, while the left side houses twelve monthly cards produced on mass-dyed gray decorative paper for note-taking functionality. The calendar's aesthetic is anchored in geometric patterns, particularly emphasizing circular motifs that create rhythmic arrangements of colored dots and overlapping forms. Its technical execution showcases mastery of various printing methodologies, including offset and screen printing, enhanced by UV coating, hot foil stamping, and precise laser cutting. The calendar measures 210 x 148 mm for the stand, with graphic pages of 120 x 120 mm and calendar pages of 90 x 120 mm, all elegantly housed in a distinctive red decorative cardboard envelope finished with pantone silver printing. This sophisticated design approach earned recognition from the A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its innovative integration of materials, printing techniques, and visual storytelling. The calendar's development, spanning from July to December 2016, demonstrates meticulous attention to detail in both its functional and aesthetic aspects, successfully combining practical utility with artistic expression.
