M10 House Architecture Residential

M10 House Architecture Residential is an innovative architectural project located in the heart of Fukuoka City, Japan, exemplifying contemporary residential design principles through its thoughtful integration of space, light, and materials. The structure, completed in July 2016, represents a sophisticated response to the challenges of urban living, featuring a distinctive L-shaped design with two volumes of different heights centered around a light court. The design incorporates red cedar wood and concrete elements, creating a harmonious balance between warmth and architectural boldness. Notable features include a floating staircase design that serves as a focal point upon entry, with indirect lighting beneath the stair treads enhancing the overall spatial ambiance. The residence's careful consideration of privacy is evident in its strategic balcony design, which connects to the living room while maintaining seclusion from the main road. The project's lighting scheme is particularly noteworthy, with indirect illumination running from ceiling to floor on the second level, complemented by kitchen lighting that creates cohesive, modern spaces. This architectural achievement, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2019, demonstrates exceptional skill in addressing contemporary urban living challenges while maintaining aesthetic excellence and functional efficiency. The design successfully balances the competing demands of privacy, security, and aesthetic appeal, utilizing innovative technical solutions and material combinations to create a living space that enhances the quality of life for its inhabitants while contributing to the architectural fabric of its urban context.
