Lunar Habitat
Lunar Habitat is a type of space architecture designed to provide safe and comfortable living spaces for people on the Moon. Designers often use local lunar soil, called regolith, to build protective layers around the habitat, which helps shield people from radiation and extreme temperatures. Inflatable modules are sometimes used as the core, and then covered with regolith for extra safety. Many designs include systems that recycle water and air, and use solar panels for energy. The shape of a lunar habitat is usually round or dome-like, which helps spread out pressure evenly and makes the structure stronger. Designers plan for modular units that can be connected, so the habitat can grow as more people arrive. Some concepts use 3D printing robots to build parts of the habitat using materials found on the Moon, making construction easier and reducing the need to bring supplies from Earth.
