Louvre light Light is an innovative interactive table lamp that draws inspiration from the distinctive characteristics of Greek summer sunlight filtering through traditional louvered shutters. This sophisticated lighting fixture, designed by Natasha Chatziangeli, represents a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic flexibility through its unique modular construction comprising 20 interchangeable rings - 14 crafted from plexiglass and 6 from cork. The design's brilliance lies in its ability to transform light diffusion, volume, and aesthetic appearance through user manipulation, allowing for countless customization possibilities while maintaining operational safety. The lamp's technical sophistication is evident in its shadowless illumination, achieved through careful material selection and engineering that enables light to pass through and diffuse evenly, eliminating harsh shadows both on the fixture itself and surrounding surfaces. Standing at 220mm in height with a base diameter of 180mm, the lamp employs LED technology to ensure cool operation, while its construction involves precision manufacturing techniques including laser cutting for plexiglass components and CNC machining for cork elements. The design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, exemplifies contemporary lighting innovation through its interactive nature and user-centric approach, allowing individuals to participate in the creative process by rearranging the rings to achieve desired lighting effects.
