Longshan Library Library

Longshan Library Library

Longshan Library Library is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in 2019, located in Fogang County, Qingyuan, Guangdong Province, China, that masterfully combines the functionality of a sales center with a permanent community library space. This 1,386-square-meter facility represents a sophisticated approach to multifunctional space design, featuring a striking 9-meter-high building model area adorned with 2,000 crystal birds that create an ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of rolling mountains and floating clouds. The design, conceived by Zhou Wei and Zhu Jing, incorporates a sunken reading space housing more than 10,000 books, catering to readers of various age groups while fostering an environment conducive to intellectual exploration and spiritual reflection. The space is characterized by its simple elegance and modern aesthetics, achieved through careful attention to architectural profiles, interface designs, and the thoughtful integration of daily dynamic elements alongside artistic installations and natural elements such as green pine. The project, which won the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, demonstrates exceptional versatility in its design approach, successfully transitioning from a sales center to a permanent community library that serves as a spiritual landmark within the city. The design philosophy emphasizes the creation of a city of books that reflects the local community's intellectual aspirations, while the practical implementation showcases innovative space utilization through features such as the sunken reading area and the dramatic crystal bird installation, establishing a harmonious balance between functional requirements and artistic expression.
