Lobby Stretched Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that reimagines traditional spatial planning concepts, drawing inspiration from Japanese architectural principles to create a harmonious flow between public and private spaces. Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 198-square-meter residence exemplifies a sophisticated approach to contemporary living through its thoughtful spatial organization and multifunctional design elements. The design's distinctive feature is its entrance sequence, which begins with a rotatable screen that leads to a lengthwise axis extending toward a long dining table, creating a natural progression through the space. A piano serves as a pivotal point for a secondary axis, around which the design establishes semi-open spaces for various activities including reading, movie watching, and children's play areas. The project employs premium materials including marble, oak, metal, and wood blinds to achieve its refined aesthetic and functional objectives. The design successfully addresses the challenge of balancing the owner's lifestyle requirements with spatial grandeur, creating zones that seamlessly transition between public and private functions. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional spatial planning that transforms conventional residential architecture into a dynamic living environment where daily activities naturally flow through thoughtfully constructed forms.
