Liyue New Furniture is an innovative furniture design that masterfully bridges traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary Bauhaus aesthetics, created by designers Haonan Zhang and Bo Xu. This distinguished chair design draws its philosophical foundation from the Chinese concept of Ritual and Music Culture (LIYUE), which emphasizes the harmonious relationship between heaven, earth, and the natural order. The design exemplifies sophisticated ergonomic considerations, incorporating precise proportional relationships where the seat height to total height ratio is 9:37, while the waist support line to overall height approximates the golden ratio of 5:8. Crafted with environmental consciousness, the chair utilizes polypropylene plastic materials processed through CNC machining centers, achieving a remarkable 99.9% recycling rate, and incorporates American DuPont PA materials that are non-toxic, odorless, and fully recyclable. The chair's distinctive circular arc backrest provides optimal support for users of varying body types, while its minimalist approach to component design maximizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Measuring 550mm x 450mm x 750mm, the furniture piece demonstrates exceptional attention to user comfort and spatial efficiency. The design, which was completed in February 2022 in Nanchang, China, represents a significant achievement in contemporary furniture design, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to innovative furniture design that successfully merges cultural heritage with modern functionality.
