Living Scenes Of Jiangnan Public Amenities

Living Scenes of Jiangnan Public Amenities is an award-winning interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese architectural elements with contemporary Western amenities, creating a sophisticated public space within a congregate housing complex. Completed in 2016 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, this 661-square-meter development exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western design philosophies. The project draws profound inspiration from the renowned Suzhou gardens, incorporating authentic Chinese architectural elements such as pavilions and Taihu stones imported directly from China. The design seamlessly connects outdoor and indoor spaces through thoughtful landscaping that features small Chinese bridges, flowing streams, and carefully selected plantations, creating a continuous visual narrative that pays homage to traditional Jiangnan aesthetics. The public areas encompass various functional spaces including a gym, bar, lounge, banquet room, and reading room, each carefully designed to blend contemporary utility with Chinese architectural motifs. Notable design elements include marble counters with refined iron craftsmanship, dark green walls that enhance oriental charm, and wooden grilles combined with Chinese window lattices that create artistic viewing perspectives. The project employs cultured stones on walls that harmonize with white exterior walls and traditional roof tiles, while the sophisticated use of composite materials, elegant contemporary furniture, and Qing-style pieces creates a cohesive design language. The innovative approach to space utilization and cultural integration earned this project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in creating a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese design elements while maintaining functional sophistication.
