Linear Floor Floor Light

Linear Floor Floor Light

Linear Floor Floor Light is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies minimalist design principles through its linear structured form, designed by Ray Teng Pai and his team at Singular Concept. This sophisticated floor lamp, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, represents a significant advancement in contemporary lighting design through its integration of automotive manufacturing techniques with domestic lighting solutions. The design's distinctive feature lies in its precise tube bending methodology, traditionally employed in vehicle part production, showcasing Taiwan's manufacturing expertise while promoting industry advancement. The lamp's construction emphasizes both aesthetic and functional considerations, incorporating a linear light source that creates soft, complementary illumination patterns within modern spaces. Its thoughtful engineering includes a foot-operated switch for hands-free operation and a strategically positioned swivel head that allows for convenient angle adjustment when seated. The design demonstrates exceptional environmental consciousness through its flat-packaging design and use of non-toxic materials, while its easy assembly system enhances user experience. Measuring 100 cm x 50 cm x 200 cm, the lamp's development process involved extensive prototyping using advanced manufacturing techniques including 3D printing and CNC milling, overcoming challenges in mechanical strength, thermal management, and sensor functionality. The project, initiated in April 2014 in Taipei, underwent rigorous development and testing before reaching mass production in September 2015, following successful exhibitions at prestigious international design venues.
