Lights Across The Tree Residence

Lights Across The Tree Residence

Lights across the Tree Residence is an innovative interior design project completed in March 2016 in Taichung City, exemplifying a harmonious integration of indoor and outdoor spaces through thoughtful architectural interventions. This 198-square-meter residential space, designed by PoCheng Chu, YaYi Tsai, and YingYu Chen, masterfully preserves the original interior elements while introducing sophisticated design solutions that enhance spatial characteristics and privacy. The design's cornerstone features an ingenious array of greenery hedges positioned alongside the living room's exterior, serving both as a natural privacy screen and as an aesthetic bridge between interior and exterior spaces. A distinctive black-and-white cube storage unit, situated between the living and dining areas, functions as a family archive while contributing to the space's visual narrative. The project's sophisticated approach to natural light integration is evident through large French windows that extend the living room wall to the outdoor greenery, effectively transforming traditional spatial boundaries. The designers employed a dual-theme concept, utilizing wall cabinets and stone door frames to reorganize sequential elements throughout the space. This thoughtful arrangement, combined with the interplay of natural light filtering through the greenery hedges, creates an atmosphere of elegant tranquility. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, demonstrates exceptional skill in balancing functional requirements with aesthetic sophistication, particularly in its innovative solution to privacy concerns in dense urban settings.
