Light Impression Residential Space

Light Impression Residential Space

Light Impression Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary design principles. Created by designer Chih Yu Chieh in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this 182-square-foot living space masterfully incorporates sustainable materials and thoughtful spatial planning to create a unique living environment that pays homage to nature while meeting modern lifestyle needs. The design philosophy centers on the metaphorical transformation of natural elements into architectural language, utilizing solid wood, iron, marble, and glass to create a seamless flow between different functional areas. The space features distinctive elements such as a grille screen entrance design that combines form and materiality, and innovative solutions such as a multi-functional kitchen area connected to the corridor via sliding doors, effectively addressing lighting challenges while maintaining spatial flexibility. The project, completed between October 2018 and March 2019, demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental consciousness through the use of low-formaldehyde materials and eco-friendly paints. The design's sophisticated approach to semi-open partitions allows for dynamic space utilization, particularly beneficial for families with young children, while maintaining visual transparency and spatial continuity. This innovative residential project, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a remarkable balance between aesthetic sophistication and practical functionality, setting a notable example in contemporary residential design through its thoughtful integration of natural materials, spatial efficiency, and human-centric planning.
