Li Beer Packaging is an innovative beverage packaging design that celebrates the rich heritage of Chinese beer brewing history, drawing inspiration from archaeological discoveries at the Yangshao cultural site. This sophisticated packaging concept seamlessly integrates historical elements with contemporary design sensibilities, featuring a distinctive bottle form inspired by the ancient Shuang-Er-Ni-Yu pattern pottery vessel, complete with salamander fish motifs. The design, which garnered a Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, exemplifies a masterful blend of cultural preservation and modern functionality. The package's dimensions of 350mm x 120mm x 330mm accommodate two 999ml bottles, each crafted from premium glass and adorned with traditional water ripples and fish stripe patterns. The design's cultural significance is deeply rooted in archaeological findings from the Mijiaya historic site in Shaanxi province, where 5,400-year-old pottery fragments revealed the earliest known evidence of beer brewing in ancient China. The packaging incorporates embossing techniques that provide a tactile experience, while elegant imagery and archaistic typography enhance its historical authenticity. This thoughtfully executed design project, completed between 2020 and 2021, successfully addresses the challenge of conveying traditional brewing methods through visual and structural elements, creating a premium presentation that honors Chinese liquor culture while elevating the contemporary beer drinking experience.
