Kryolan / Nubia Istanbul Shop is an award-winning retail interior design project located in Istanbul's prestigious Nişantaşı district, exemplifying innovative solutions in multi-brand luxury cosmetics retail space design. The 170-square-meter establishment, completed in 2014 by Idea Architecture under the direction of Yasemin Karadeniz and Yücel Karadeniz, demonstrates exceptional spatial organization by successfully integrating multiple luxury makeup and skincare brands within a single cohesive environment. The design overcomes the significant challenge of being situated below street level through sophisticated architectural interventions and thoughtful visual merchandising strategies. The interior features meticulously crafted custom display units, including specialized wall displays, isle displays, vitrine displays, and dedicated makeup stations, each designed to maintain brand identity while contributing to a harmonious whole. The material palette combines premium finishes including extra-clear glass, wood-veneered panels, lacquered surfaces, and black granite ceramic tiles, enhanced by an innovative lighting scheme incorporating LED elements and barisol ceiling components. The project's technical execution involved a comprehensive approach to construction, beginning with structural modifications and proceeding through electrical and mechanical systems installation, custom furniture fabrication, and final detail work. This sophisticated retail environment, which garnered an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in commercial interior architecture, successfully balancing the competing demands of multiple luxury brands while creating an inviting and functional shopping environment.
