Kot&Kalen Residential Design

Kot&Kalen Residential design is an exemplary modern French-inspired residential interior design project that masterfully reimagines traditional French aesthetics within a contemporary context. Located in Shanghai, this 480-square-meter villa interior demonstrates a sophisticated interpretation of luxury living spaces through its innovative blend of classical and modern design elements. The project, completed in 2016, showcases a refined approach to high-end residential design, particularly notable for its artistic integration of diverse stylistic influences. The design philosophy emphasizes that true luxury transcends mere material wealth, incorporating thoughtful spatial arrangements and carefully curated aesthetic elements throughout the residence. A distinctive feature of this design is its daughter's room, which eschews conventional childish motifs in favor of a more sophisticated artistic atmosphere, incorporating macaron colors and crystal elements to create an elevated aesthetic experience. The project's bar area draws inspiration from New York's Golden Age, utilizing a sophisticated palette of black, white, gold, and coffee tones, complemented by geometric patterns that create an atmosphere of timeless elegance. The design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to residential interior design innovation. This prestigious accolade highlights the project's success in achieving a harmonious balance between functional luxury and artistic expression, while maintaining a strong connection to both French architectural heritage and contemporary design sensibilities.
