Koron Sofa

Koron Sofa

Koron Sofa is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Persian musical instrument aesthetics with contemporary furniture design principles. Created by designers Reza Salianeh and Hamid Packseresht, this distinctive sofa draws its primary inspiration from the Taar, a traditional Iranian stringed instrument, translating its elegant curves and cultural significance into a functional piece of furniture. The design, which earned a Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, features a sophisticated composition of wood, leather, and steel, measuring 243 centimeters in length with a sitting area of 211 centimeters. The sofa's ergonomic design incorporates a sitting height of 45 centimeters and a total height of 90 centimeters, ensuring optimal comfort while maintaining its artistic appeal. The manufacturing process employs advanced foam injection techniques into a metal casing, with the skeleton constructed from metal profiles and finished with woven viscose fiber. The sophisticated production method includes polyurethane or hot foam cushioning for the seating area, culminating in a seamless integration of the backrest and sitting area through simultaneous coating. This premium furniture piece, which emerged from extensive research into Iranian instrumental forms, represents a bridge between nostalgic cultural elements and modern design sensibilities, making it particularly suitable for premium lobbies, office waiting rooms, and residences seeking to incorporate Persian design elements. The sofa's development, completed between September 2017 and February 2018 in Tehran, demonstrates exceptional innovation in furniture design through its unique combination of cultural heritage and contemporary functionality.
