Kilt Cult Fashion collection is an innovative and culturally significant fashion design project that masterfully merges Brazilian and Celtic sartorial traditions into a groundbreaking genderless clothing line. Created by Brazilian designer Fernanda Bueno, this collection represents a paradigm shift in contemporary fashion by challenging established gender norms and traditional clothing stereotypes. The collection, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design category, features a sophisticated combination of seven distinct fabrics including satin, linen, suede, leather, tricoline cotton, and two variations of knitwear, executed in a carefully curated palette of yellow, brown, and black. The design philosophy centers on the concept of freestyle fashion, incorporating striking prints, vibrant colors, and versatile modeling techniques that transcend conventional gender boundaries. The collection's distinctive aesthetic is achieved through a thoughtful deconstruction of the traditional Scottish kilt, reimagined through contemporary patterns, textures, and silhouettes. Developed between 2014 and 2016 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the collection comprises 19 individual garments arranged into 10 complete outfits, each piece meticulously crafted through a combination of hand and machine sewing techniques. The designer's extensive research into consumer behavior revealed a significant trend of individuals seeking clothing options beyond their traditionally assigned gender sections, which directly informed the collection's inclusive design approach.
