KennaXu Gallery Showroom

KennaXu Gallery Showroom

KennaXu Gallery Showroom is an innovative contemporary art exhibition space located in Futian District, Shenzhen, China, that exemplifies the harmonious integration of artistic spaces within residential communities. This 223-square-meter gallery, completed in 2019, represents a significant transformation of a 1990s residential building into a sophisticated cultural venue. The design philosophy centers on the concept of white space dominance, creating a modern and minimalist aesthetic that serves as an ideal backdrop for artwork display. The renovation successfully addressed the challenges of converting a narrow, dim two-story residence into an expansive art space, incorporating unique window designs that facilitate natural light and create an auditory connection with the surrounding community. The gallery's design employs premium materials including latex paint, ultra-clear glass, white tiles, and white stainless steel, demonstrating exceptional attention to material selection and spatial composition. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, showcases innovative solutions in public space design, particularly in its approach to merging contemporary art with daily life. The space is characterized by its thoughtful integration of natural elements, creating a serene atmosphere where light, shadow, and artwork interact harmoniously. The gallery's location within an established residential community adds a unique dimension to its function, making fine art more accessible to the public while maintaining professional exhibition standards.
