Kanji Posters Posters is an innovative series of visual communication designs that masterfully blends traditional Chinese calligraphy with contemporary graphic design principles, created by designer Alice Xi Zong. This sophisticated artistic exploration represents the initial state and infinite existence of surroundings through carefully crafted Kanji strokes, demonstrating exquisite elegance and profound cultural implications. The collection, consisting of 10-inch by 10-inch format posters, emerged from extensive research into traditional Chinese elements and calligraphic arts, incorporating modern digital techniques through Adobe Creative Suite applications. The design process involved meticulous consultation with calligraphers to achieve an optimal balance between traditional authenticity and modern aesthetic sensibilities. Each poster uniquely combines traditional Chinese elements with photographic backgrounds, creating a distinctive style of Chinese impressionism that bridges classical and contemporary visual languages. The project, developed between November 2021 and February 2022, required in-depth field research across multiple Chinese cities to study authentic calligraphy techniques and cultural contexts. This innovative approach to poster design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its excellence in combining cultural preservation with contemporary design innovation.
