Kairos Time Earrings is an exquisite piece of jewelry design that masterfully combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, created by Japanese designer Chiaki Miyauchi. These sophisticated earrings feature suspended amber drops adorned with Makie, an ancient Japanese lacquer technique that involves sprinkling gold powder, mounted in 18kt white gold and accented with brilliant-cut diamonds. The design conceptually represents the divine moment of transformation, particularly focusing on the metamorphosis of a butterfly, with diamonds symbolizing the eternal cosmic rhythm. The earrings, measuring 20mm in width, 13mm in depth, and 55mm in height, showcase an innovative fusion of materials including natural Baltic amber, diamonds totaling 0.11 carats, and traditional Japanese lacquer with 24kt gold powder and mother of pearl elements. The design's uniqueness lies in its harmonious combination of two tree-derived natural resins - amber, which is fossilized coniferous resin, and Japanese lacquer, processed from tree sap - creating an environmentally conscious piece that bridges Eastern and Western aesthetic traditions.
