Kai Yuan Hotel

Kai Yuan Hotel

Kai Yuan Hotel is a distinguished architectural and interior design project located in the Qingshan District of Wuhan City, China, situated along the banks of the Yangtze River. Completed in 2020 under the creative direction of designer Liang Fang and team, this innovative hospitality space encompasses 20,000 square meters and features an impressive 8-meter-high lobby that masterfully blends contemporary design elements with traditional Oriental aesthetics. The project's distinctive design philosophy centers on the harmonious fusion of cyan and orange-red color schemes, reflecting the local cultural heritage while incorporating modern, minimalist design language. The hotel's architectural narrative is particularly noteworthy for its dramatic entrance corridor, which creates a transitional space between the urban environment and the serene interior, featuring towering cabinets and screen doors that establish a welcoming atmosphere. The design demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its integration of LED displays for rotating visual arts installations, creating dynamic environments that respond to different themes and moods. This innovative approach to hospitality design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, successfully redefines the concept of urban business resort hotels by balancing commercial functionality with artistic expression. The project's execution between December 2018 and August 2020 showcases a thoughtful integration of materials including wood, glass, metal, and stone, creating spaces that honor local heritage while meeting international standards of luxury and comfort.
