K Galleria Lifestyle Center

K Galleria Lifestyle Center

K Galleria Lifestyle Center is an innovative architectural project that reimagines the traditional shopping mall concept by drawing inspiration from ancient Ottoman-era khans, creating a sophisticated fusion of historical elements with contemporary design principles. Located in the coastal city of Kaslik, Lebanon, this distinguished lifestyle destination spans 24,983 square meters across four floors and seven basement levels, exemplifying a thoughtful balance between retail, leisure, and social spaces. The structure's design vocabulary pays homage to historical Middle Eastern marketplaces, particularly evident in its monolithic cubic form and distinctive vertical openings that echo traditional khan architecture while facilitating natural light and ventilation. The center's architectural composition features a shifted parallelepiped that creates a dramatic central atrium, while the exterior showcases locally-sourced white stone treated with contemporary finishing techniques. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project dedicates 35% of its leasable space to leisure and dining activities, incorporating a diverse program that includes a supermarket, retail zones, bookshop, coffee shops, indoor and outdoor food courts, and a children's play area, all supported by extensive parking facilities for 264 vehicles. The development's strategic location adjacent to a prominent university positions it as a vital social hub that serves students, residents, businessmen, and tourists, transforming it from a mere commercial venue into a vibrant community gathering space that honors the historical role of khans as centers for cultural exchange and social interaction.
