JS Tallman Bourbon Packaging

JS Tallman Bourbon Packaging

JS Tallman Bourbon Packaging is an exemplary packaging design that showcases the artisanal craftsmanship of a premium bourbon whiskey through its sophisticated visual and tactile elements. Created in Portland, Oregon between 2015 and 2016, this meticulously crafted packaging design employs copper foil and blind embossing techniques on matte black paper to create a bold, dramatic presence that pays homage to traditional distillation processes. The design's dimensions are precisely calculated, with the front label measuring 120 mm x 130 mm, the back label 76 mm x 114 mm, and the top closure sticker 25 mm x 164 mm. Drawing inspiration from copper stills and the amber hues of bourbon, the packaging incorporates handcrafted details that reflect the artisanal nature of the spirit within. Each bottle features a hand-signed label and a decorative necker bearing a family crest, emphasizing the personal touch and heritage aspects of the product. The design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2017, demonstrates exceptional attention to user experience through its tactile elements, including textured paper and strategic use of embossing that enhances the perceived quality of the product. The packaging successfully combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities, creating a distinctive presence in the craft spirits market while paying tribute to local ingredients and traditional distilling methods.
