JK9 Sync Smart Dog Harness
JK9 Sync Smart Dog Harness is an innovative wearable technology designed to enhance urban dog walking experiences through advanced features and smart connectivity. This groundbreaking pet accessory, developed by Alberto Vasquez, István Vincze, and Gyula Sebő, represents a significant advancement in pet care design, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design category. The harness utilizes high-tech knitting technology that combines polyester yarns with ultra-strong thermo-yarns in a specialized pattern, creating a seamless unibody construction that dramatically reduces component parts from the typical 40 to just two knitted layers. Its innovative design incorporates integrated hardware for high-accuracy geolocation tracking within 10 meters, automatic LED lighting for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, and sophisticated movement sensors that monitor canine activity levels. The development process, which spanned from 2019 to 2021 in Budapest, Hungary, involved extensive research including surveys of 1,500 dog owners across 10 countries and 30 in-depth interviews in 5 countries, focusing on the future of urban dog keeping culture and interspecies design principles. The harness addresses the complex challenge of serving both human and canine users in urban environments, featuring an ultra-ergonomic fit that provides exceptional breathability while maintaining extreme tensile strength for control. Through its companion mobile application, users can manage geolocation, lighting, and lifestyle monitoring functions, with GPS tracking capabilities lasting up to two weeks if a pet becomes lost. This smart harness represents a significant evolution in pet care products, particularly considering projections that 70% of people will live in cities by 2050, making it a crucial innovation for improving human-animal coexistence in urban settings.
