Jianjing Office and Cultural Space is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious coexistence between human habitation and natural elements, realized within a 160-square-meter space in Suzhou, China. Completed in July 2019, this distinguished project, designed by Gaofeng Zhu, introduces a revolutionary approach to office and cultural space design by incorporating a courtyard landscape within an enclosed environment. The design philosophy centers on creating an elegant and plain home that seamlessly integrates natural elements with modern functionality. The space is thoughtfully divided into three distinct halls of varying sizes, each featuring elevated floors that facilitate smooth air circulation and create dynamic spatial relationships. A notable aspect of the design is its sophisticated use of tall wood grille walls, which extend throughout the space, creating continuous yet individually distinct indoor scenes that adapt to different emotional states and functional requirements. The project's innovative approach to temperature and humidity control, combined with its careful consideration of shapes, materials, colors, and textures, creates an environment that encourages occupants to connect with their true selves while maintaining awareness of natural preservation. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to innovative spatial design and its successful integration of traditional elements with contemporary needs.
