Jazz Interior Design

Jazz Interior Design

Jazz Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design concept that harmoniously blends rugged and delicate elements to create a sophisticated living space, exemplified by a notable project completed in Hsinchu City, Taiwan in 2023. This design approach, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, masterfully integrates the improvisational spirit of jazz music into spatial design through its dynamic combination of materials and textures. The 165-square-meter space is characterized by a predominant gray-black color scheme that emphasizes the raw beauty of exposed concrete, metal components, and glass, balanced with warm reddish-brown wood grain accents. The design incorporates the WELL Building Standard principles, featuring advanced systems for air purification, water filtration, and thermal comfort through radiant floor heating. Notable architectural elements include reeded glass partitions in the changing room that optimize natural light while maintaining privacy, and an innovative aluminum column system with layered shelves that maximizes storage efficiency. The space showcases a distinctive central courtyard with an open desk area and uniquely angled bookshelves, creating a stress-relieving atmosphere. A particularly creative feature is the integration of pet-friendly design elements, including elevated walkways for feline companions, demonstrating thoughtful consideration for all inhabitants. The design's commitment to sustainability and wellbeing is evident in its use of low-formaldehyde materials and emphasis on natural lighting, while the preservation of the building's original ceiling structure in the dining and living areas reflects a wabi-sabi aesthetic philosophy.
