J'adore Residence

J'adore Residence

J'adore Residence is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2018 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, that exemplifies contemporary living through its thoughtful open-plan layout and sophisticated material selection. The 100-square-meter apartment transformation focuses on removing superfluous partitions to create a harmonious flow between living, dining, and kitchen areas, specifically designed for a young couple who appreciate culinary arts and social gatherings. The design's distinctive features include a continuous window facade that maximizes natural light penetration, an elevated timber flooring that integrates seamlessly with the sofa area, and a sophisticated material palette comprising black, grey, and white hexagonal tiles, wooden-texture tiles, and Spanish-pattern tiles. The project's architectural innovation lies in its clever solution to spatial constraints through the decorative tapering of the main beam, which alleviates visual oppressiveness while maintaining structural integrity. The interior showcases a thoughtful interplay of materials and textures, with grey wall surfaces extending to the ceiling creating a focal point, while the open-plan kitchen with its island benchtop serves as a social hub. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning and innovative approach to modern living. The project's success lies in its ability to transform a conventional apartment into a sophisticated living space that functions both as a practical home and an elegant entertainment venue, featuring carefully considered lighting solutions that transition the space from a bright, airy daytime retreat to an atmospheric evening lounge.
