It's Bird 2 Multifunctional Table

It's Bird 2 Multifunctional Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functionality and artistic expression, created by designer Oksana Belova. This sophisticated piece, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2020, represents a thoughtful exploration of material transformation and sustainable design principles. The table's distinctive composition features a terrazzo base, incorporating repurposed stone fragments to create a robust foundation, while elegant thin lines of light encircle the substantial stone structure, providing ambient illumination and creating a striking visual contrast. Standing at 1500mm in length, 350mm in width, and 1500mm in height, this versatile piece transcends traditional furniture categories by serving multiple functions - operating as a decorative torchiere, a practical bar unit, and a bookshelf or interior installation. The design philosophy behind It's Bird 2 draws inspiration from early autumn landscapes, particularly the interplay between light and nature observed on desert beaches, translating these organic elements into a contemporary furniture piece. The innovative use of reclaimed materials, particularly in the terrazzo construction and metalwork, demonstrates a commitment to sustainable design practices while maintaining luxurious aesthetics. The integration of hidden retractable elements enhances the table's functionality while preserving its clean, minimalist appearance, making it particularly suitable for high-end interior environments where both practical utility and artistic merit are equally valued.
