Irrational Slice Information Visualization

Irrational Slice Information Visualization

Irrational Slice Information Visualization is an innovative three-dimensional information visualization system that revolutionizes the way data is presented and interpreted in digital media art. Developed by designers Lu Zhao, Ruhe Zhang, and Qi Wang in 2020, this groundbreaking project combines diverse visual expression forms with augmented reality (AR) technology to deliver multi-dimensional information in an interactive three-dimensional space. The system draws inspiration from the complex nature of human irrational decision-making processes and employs a unique approach to data visualization by incorporating elements inspired by brain neuron structures. Through its sophisticated integration of AR technology, the visualization allows users to manipulate and explore information models through intuitive finger controls, enabling rotation, zooming, and multi-angle observation capabilities. The design addresses the fundamental challenge of balancing clear information transmission with compelling visual aesthetics, ultimately achieving this through its innovative three-dimensional presentation methodology. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category represents a significant advancement in information design, particularly in its ability to strengthen the connection between viewers and data through enhanced interactive modes. The system's implementation of AR technology and three-dimensional modeling creates an immersive experience that transcends traditional two-dimensional information presentation methods, offering new possibilities for information observation and interaction within the digital media art context.
