IRIS Ceramic Store Shop is an innovative retail space design project that exemplifies contemporary architectural excellence in commercial interior design, completed in 2018 in Chengdu. This sophisticated retail environment encompasses three interconnected small shops with a total area of 276 square meters, featuring exhibition halls A and B, a general service desk, and a business center, all meticulously designed to showcase premium Italian ceramic tiles. The design, conceived by renowned designer Yao Xiaobing alongside assistant designers Xiao Yuqing and Luo Baoan, masterfully addresses the challenge of creating a prestigious brand image within limited spatial constraints. The interior aesthetic is characterized by a refined gray color palette complemented by golden accents, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury that elevates the brand's perceived value. A distinctive architectural element includes an inclined frame porch at the entrance, which serves both to enhance spatial privacy and create an engaging visual draw for potential customers. The layout ingeniously accommodates multiple functions including high-level conference facilities, design areas, and sales reception spaces, despite the spatial limitations. The project demonstrates exceptional innovation in its approach to material application, particularly in expanding the traditional usage of ceramic tiles and incorporating custom linear lighting solutions. This harmonious integration of form and function earned the project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its contribution to advancing retail design standards and its successful creation of a cohesive brand experience across physically separated retail spaces.
