Ionia Olive oil packaging is an innovative packaging design concept that revolutionizes the presentation of extra virgin olive oil by drawing inspiration from ancient Greek amphora traditions. Created by Greek designer Antonia Skaraki and team, this remarkable packaging solution features a unique approach where each bottle in a limited production of 2000 units showcases a distinct pattern, making every piece a one-of-a-kind collector's item. The design seamlessly merges historical Greek artistic elements with contemporary aesthetics, utilizing linear patterns that pay homage to ancient Greek motifs while maintaining a modern sensibility. The packaging, which won the Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design Category, consists of carefully crafted glass bottles adorned with labels printed on Velnart White/Upm Raflatac paper, measuring 186x190mm. This sophisticated design approach not only preserves the cultural heritage of Greek olive oil production but also creates a unique visual identity for each bottle, appealing to culinary enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate the intersection of tradition and contemporary design. The project, completed in Athens during the first semester of 2016, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, where geometric patterns and motifs are thoughtfully simplified to maintain authenticity while achieving a clean, modern aesthetic.
