IO Doodle Box Mobile Art Storage

IO Doodle Box Mobile Art Storage

IO Doodle Box Mobile Art Storage is an innovative, multifunctional furniture piece designed by Mina Panic and Carlo Negri that revolutionizes children's creative spaces through its versatile approach to art storage and activity facilitation. This portable unit, crafted from sustainable Scandinavian birch plywood with high-pressure laminate finishing, seamlessly combines storage, seating, and artistic functionality in a compact form measuring 525mm x 400mm x 750mm. The design features integrated 20cm laminated plywood wheels and a slender handle, enabling children to independently maneuver their creative space, while its sophisticated engineering includes a continuous piano hinge for the lid and an innovative paper roll mechanism that transforms the top surface into an instant drawing board. Distinguished by its receipt of the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, this piece exemplifies exceptional design through its thoughtful integration of multiple functions, including a removable accessories tray, internal storage compartment, and comfortable seating surface. The design process involved extensive research into children's creative behaviors and rigorous safety testing to ensure compliance with UK and European regulations. Its sustainable design philosophy extends beyond material selection to its adaptability, allowing the piece to evolve from a children's art station to a practical side table, demonstrating remarkable longevity in both function and aesthetic appeal.
