Interactive Narrative
Interactive Narrative is a design approach in game design where the story changes based on player choices, and the game tracks these decisions using a branching system or variable states. Designers use flowcharts or visual scripting tools to map out every possible path a player can take, which helps keep the story consistent and lets the player feel their actions matter. Some games use a system where the game remembers what the player did earlier and changes dialogue or events later, which is called state persistence. This method helps create a story that feels personal to each player, and designers can use simple triggers or more complex logic to make the story react in real time.
