Inflorescence Commercial Space
Inflorescence Commercial Space is an award-winning architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Japanese aesthetics with Chinese and Taiwanese architectural elements, creating a distinctive commercial environment that serves as both a dining venue and a contemplative space. Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, this innovative design project features a carefully orchestrated journey beginning with a bamboo path that leads visitors through a transformative experience. The space is characterized by its thoughtful integration of vintage elements, including collectible furniture and recycled wood, which contribute to a profound sense of nostalgia and temporal depth. The design incorporates significant architectural features such as large-scale sliding doors that maximize natural light penetration and showcase the surrounding cityscape, while the interior spaces are adorned with pattern glasses featuring Begonia flowers, a symbolic representation of Taiwan's cultural heritage. The project's sophisticated spatial arrangement includes a dedicated tearoom for initial guest reception, followed by carefully planned dining areas that establish a ritualistic progression through the space. Notable technical achievements include the implementation of traditional Lu Ban mortise and tenon joinery techniques, minimizing the use of modern fasteners while maintaining structural integrity. The exterior design encompasses a meticulously crafted landscape featuring indigenous plants, carefully selected greywacke stones covered with lichen, and a waterfall feature that mimics natural mountain streams. This commercial space, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining functional commercial requirements with contemplative design elements, creating an environment that successfully balances human intervention with natural elements, as evidenced by the preserved habitat for local wildlife including Psilopogon Nuchalisowls and eagles.
