Image Sofa

Image Sofa is an innovative single-person seating furniture that masterfully blends traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics, created by designers Zhenyi Chen and Jian Chen. This distinctive piece draws its inspiration from the renowned Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) Chinese painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, reinterpreting classical landscape artistry through modern furniture design. The sofa's sophisticated composition integrates four primary materials: wood, acrylic, cloth, and metal, creating a harmonious interplay between traditional and contemporary elements. The backrest, wrapped in varying colored fabrics, creates a dimensional effect reminiscent of mountain ranges, representing masculine energy, while the transparent acrylic seat surface evokes the tranquility of still water, embodying feminine qualities. Standing at 760mm in height, with a length of 1400mm and depth of 600mm, the sofa incorporates ergonomic principles in its backrest design to ensure optimal user comfort. A notable feature is the tactfully integrated tray combined with the legs, facilitating activities such as tea drinking, reading, and meditation. The design's technical innovation lies in its complex material integration, requiring collaborative craftsmanship to achieve both structural stability and aesthetic excellence. This exceptional furniture piece, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant achievement in contemporary furniture design, successfully bridging cultural heritage with modern functionality while catering to contemporary lifestyle preferences and aesthetic sensibilities.
