IL MARE Bar Restaurant

IL MARE Bar Restaurant

IL MARE Bar restaurant is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the concept of scalable, modular restaurant design, completed in Yokohama, Japan in 2016. This sophisticated establishment, primarily focused on seafood cuisine, represents a groundbreaking approach to multi-restaurant operations through its pioneering cut-and-paste-able design methodology. The interior space masterfully integrates urban sophistication with maritime elements, featuring distinctive arch-formed shapes connecting columns and ceilings, which serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. The design's intelligent use of modern tiles and antique woods creates a harmonious balance between contemporary and traditional elements, while carefully considered ceiling heights and strategic placement of pendant illumination enable subtle atmospheric zoning. Notable architectural elements include custom-designed furniture, including an impressive communal table measuring 3000mm x 1150mm x 1000mm, integrated with innovative stand-lighting solutions. The restaurant's design philosophy emphasizes the seamless integration of atmosphere and detail, demonstrated through the thoughtful interpretation of nautical themes into modern design elements. This exceptional project, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, has proven its success through subsequent implementation in multiple locations, establishing a new paradigm in restaurant interior design that combines scalability with distinctive brand identity.
