Iddw Office

Iddw Office is an innovative interior design project completed in 2017 in Nanjing, China, that reimagines the traditional workplace concept by incorporating elements of hospitality and leisure spaces to create a more productive and enjoyable work environment. The 70-square-meter office space, featuring a striking 4.5-meter ceiling height, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to modern workplace design through its integration of hotel-like amenities and club-inspired elements. The design, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a masterful manipulation of light and space, particularly evident in its solution to limited natural lighting through the implementation of an illuminated feature wall that complements the single glass curtain wall. The project's material palette, comprising shadow wood, marble, filament mirror, and Changhong glass, creates a harmonious interplay of textures and surfaces. The design philosophy emphasizes the beauty of broken lines, folded surfaces, and geometric blocks, abstracting these elements to create dynamic spatial relationships. A significant design challenge was overcome through the strategic reservation of elevation space in the lobby area, where artificial lighting was carefully engineered to simulate natural daylight, simultaneously addressing the aesthetic treatment of half-structured cylindrical wall elements. The project, led by designer Wei Wang and team, represents a forward-thinking approach to workplace design that prioritizes employee wellbeing and operational efficiency while maintaining high aesthetic standards and attention to detail.
