ICON Washbasin

ICON Washbasin is an innovative and environmentally conscious bathroom fixture that represents a significant advancement in sustainable sanitary ware design, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category. This sophisticated washbasin combines cutting-edge material science with ecological responsibility, featuring a distinctive round basin crafted from an innovative synthetic polymer developed from coal fly ash and natural clay, achieving properties similar to cement while reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption by 80 percent through a low-temperature synthesis process below 100°C. The design draws inspiration from Earth both as a spatial element and natural resource, manifesting in a harmonious blend of form and function. The washbasin is supported by a meticulously crafted frame made of metal tubing that serves as a holder for its distinguishing base, which is constructed from sustainably sourced acacia wood, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The acacia wood component demonstrates exceptional resistance to temperature fluctuations, humidity, pressure, and water exposure, while the innovative basin material exhibits remarkable properties including minimal creep and shrinkage, superior heat and cold resistance, and exceptional chemical durability, capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to aggressive elements without degradation. Measuring 94x45x45 centimeters and weighing 31.9 kilograms, this washbasin represents a perfect equilibrium between avant-garde design and environmental stewardship, showcasing how sustainable materials can be integrated into contemporary bathroom fixtures without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.
