Ice Cubes Restaurant is an innovative interior design project located in Taipei's Eastern District, exemplifying a sophisticated fusion of contemporary aesthetics and conceptual design elements. This modern teashop, completed in 2017, features a striking golden-and-white façade that abstractly represents ice cube formations, creating a visually compelling architectural statement. The 110-square-meter space is distinguished by its remarkable transformation of traditional structural elements, most notably the conversion of an old architectural column into a dramatic golden centerpiece that serves as the establishment's focal point. The design concept draws inspiration from the historical significance of ice as a precious commodity, reimagining this cultural narrative in a modern context through innovative spatial design. The interior space is characterized by its clean, elegant atmosphere, featuring aesthetically crafted white seating arrangements that mirror scattered ice fragments, creating a dynamic visual rhythm throughout the space. The project, designed by Chia-Yen Hung and Chien Jen Wei, demonstrates exceptional expertise in material selection and spatial organization, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category.
