Hypnoss Floor Lamp

Hypnoss Floor Lamp

Hypnoss Floor Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the principles of sustainable design and creative upcycling, transforming salvaged Italian motorcycle components into functional art pieces. This distinctive floor lamp, designed by Parham Elahi Doust, incorporates a refurbished motorcycle steering wheel complete with its original odometer, preserving the authentic character and historical significance of the source material while reimagining its purpose. The lamp's construction consists of three primary components: a restored steering wheel assembly that serves as the main illuminating element, a precision-crafted central metal section manufactured using CNC milling technology, and a sophisticated tripod base crafted from high-grade beech wood. Standing at 1150mm in height with a 700mm width, the lamp's design maintains a harmonious balance between industrial heritage and contemporary domestic aesthetics. The original motorcycle switch has been ingeniously rewired to control the lamp's illumination, maintaining operational authenticity while adapting to modern electrical standards. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning creation in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category represents a thoughtful exploration of product lifecycle extension and emotional design, challenging conventional perspectives on obsolescence while creating meaningful connections between automotive history and interior lighting. The lamp's unique identity is further enhanced by its individual odometer reading, which serves as a distinctive numerical signature documenting its previous life, making each piece inherently unique and historically significant.
