Humble Harmony Origin Educational Campus is an innovative educational facility design project completed in 2018 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates Eastern architectural principles with modern educational requirements. The 4,272-square-meter campus represents a sophisticated blend of academic and commercial spaces, organized according to the Tai Chi model, reflecting traditional Confucian scholarly principles. The design, created by architects Chao-Lin Huang and Chien-Fu Yeh, distinguishes itself through three key elements: Oriental elements, eco-campus features, and natural essence. The architectural composition employs Oriental lattices within white building complexes, creating vibrant spaces that contrast with the surrounding urban environment. The design incorporates innovative spatial planning, featuring expanded four-meter-wide galleries that function as alternative learning spaces, facilitating interaction between different age groups from daycare to junior high school levels. The project's distinctive features include rooftop sporting venues, including a swimming pool and archery range, while the exterior showcases thoughtfully planned bamboo and tree plantings that establish an elegant green belt. This design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, demonstrates exceptional integration of learning spaces with commercial areas while maintaining a strong connection to local community values. The campus design revolutionizes traditional educational architecture by transforming conventional learning areas into a modern Oriental-style campus where Eastern architectural elements are harmoniously adapted to Western educational needs, creating what effectively becomes a village of farming scholars within an urban setting.
