Hualin Club

Hualin Club

Hualin Club is an innovative interior design project completed in 2018, representing a sophisticated fusion of traditional Chinese garden aesthetics with contemporary spatial design principles. Located in Yangzhou, China, this 600-square-meter interior space serves as a premier reception venue for investment and financial clients, exemplifying the harmonious integration of architecture, nature, and human experience. The design, conceived by Wang Baodong and team, employs a distinctive back-travel circulation pattern that creates a rich, meandering spatial experience reminiscent of classical Chinese gardens. The layout features a centrally positioned communication reception room that symbolizes strength and centeredness, while incorporating half-open sequences of concave walls that establish a welcoming atmosphere. The journey through the space is carefully choreographed, beginning with an entrance porch that leads to a grand hall, continuing through a varying sequence of corridors and transitional spaces, and culminating in an elegant tea room. This thoughtful progression creates a dynamic spatial narrative enhanced by the sophisticated use of materials including stone, wood, paint, wall cloth, glass, and steel. The project's innovative approach to space optimization and experiential design earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in creating an environment that masterfully balances functionality with aesthetic sophistication while maintaining strong cultural connections to traditional Chinese architectural principles.
