HPKID Indoor Kids Playground is an innovative architectural interior design project that reimagines the conventional concept of children's play spaces within urban commercial environments. This 1,200-square-meter facility represents a paradigm shift in indoor playground design, deliberately moving away from typical cartoon-inspired aesthetics to create an abstract, nature-inspired environment that stimulates children's imagination and physical development. The design is conceptually divided into two primary zones: the Universe zone, which features suspended orbital structures and cosmic-inspired elements to encourage cognitive development, and the Mountain zone, which incorporates organic topographical features and cave-like spaces to promote physical activity and exploration. The project employs sophisticated digital modeling techniques and advanced construction methodologies, including a complex coding system for steel plate assembly and laser-etched components for precise installation. The structural design notably features suspended orbital belts supported by an intricate skeleton system with hanging ribs to ensure stability across large spans. The playground's innovative approach addresses the contemporary challenge of urban children's disconnection from nature, offering a solution that combines abstract geometric forms with naturalistic elements. This thoughtful integration creates opportunities for creative interaction and unstructured play, moving beyond conventional playground paradigms. The project, completed in 2019, has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to innovative spatial design for children's development.
